Bio

Originally from Los Angeles California, Sam Garrett at age seven started out by drawing in class instead of paying attention in school. Leaving high school at the age of 15 getting his G.E.D. and starting the path of a tattoo artist was not an easy one. He began by watching his sister getting tattooed, then going to various artists for advice on apprenticeships such as, L.D. Gladstone (R.I.P) Pat Sanz, Chuck Smith, Levi Phillips, Tabitha Hutchins, and Jeff Gulino. Sam Garrett, then got his first taste of tattooing, through Ink Bomb Tattoos in Chandler Arizona, where Tabitha Huthchins, Tabitha Newell, Donovan (DZE) and Jeff Gulino taught him the importance of sterilization, not only in a tattoo procedure but as a shop.

Due to untimely events and homelessness he then spent time traveling across the U.S. trying to find his new home. He then found himself in Asheville, N.C. and decided that this was the place to begin anew. After going from shop to shop, Sam then met Daron James, of Diamond Thieves Body Piercing & Tattoo. Daron gave Sam the opportunity, to finish what he started all those years ago, and gave him a Tattoo Apprenticeship that including learning from some of the greatest artists, such as: Kimi Leger, Edward Frazier, William Blakely Wood, Jeremy Askew, and much more. Finally Sam had fulfilled the life long ambition of becoming a tattoo artist. He can be found working five days a week, at his current home in Asheville, N.C. Diamond Thieves Body Piercing & Tattoo.
